Samuel Ng is the Founder and CEO of Montfort Care with over 30 years of experience in social services. In 2000, he established the Marine Parade Family Service Centre, which later became Montfort Care, offering a suite of services via family service centres, a child protection specialist centre, a community kitchen, home care services, Active Ageing Centres, the National Anti-Violence and Sexual Harassment Helpline (NAVH), as well as towards caregiving and mental health support.

Samuel has held several key leadership positions in the community, including District Councillor with the South East Community Development Council, Board Member at Catholic Welfare Services (CWS), and Council Member of the National Council on Problem Gambling. He also contributes to social work education as an Advisory Panel Member at the Singapore University of Social Sciences.

In 2005, he pioneered YAH! – Singapore’s first community college for seniors. The response from the community was overwhelming and the graduation ceremony was attended and officiated by Mr S R Nathan the then-President of Singapore. Since then, YAH! has grown from strength to strength with over 2,000 senior alumni members.

His exceptional contributions to social services have earned him significant recognition, including the Outstanding Social Worker Award, the Public Service Star, and acknowledgment as a trailblazer in the sector by the Ministry of Social and Family Development in 2023.

In 2022, Samuel published “老妈教会我的事,” a Mandarin book detailing his personal journey caring for his mother with dementia. The book, which won 2nd place in the Popular Readers’ Choice Award, was translated into English as “Can I Hold You A While Longer?” in 2024, further emphasising his advocacy for caregiver support.

Samuel’s blend of visionary leadership and deep personal commitment has firmly established him as a leading figure in Singapore’s social service landscape.
